BIOHM Launches The First Probiotic Engineered To Address the Key Role of Fungus In Digestive Health

Dr. Ghannoum, the NIH-funded scientist who named the Mycobiome. His ground breaking discovery that "bad" bacteria and fungus work together to cause digestive issues is the foundational science behind BIOHM Probiotics

About seven months ago, Dr. Mahmoud Ghannoum, the scientist who named the Mycobiome (our body's fungal community), made the landmark discovery that bacteria and fungi work together to create digestive plaque in the gut. His findings have been hailed as a breakthrough in digestive health, with potential applications for an entire array of digestive health issues.

That's where I come in.

See Dr. Ghannoum also happens to be my Dad, and I happen to have launched a number of consumer products. So when I learned about his discovery, I realized we had the opportunity to upend the massively growing category of probiotics.

Why? It's pretty simple.

Up until now, probiotics have really only contained good bacteria, totally ignoring the role fungus plays in our guts. On top of that, they have done nothing to stop digestive plaque. Point being, probiotics on shelf have really only offered a partial solution to gut balance and supporting digestive health.

Logically, that makes no sense. When you actually look at bacteria versus fungus in the gut, it seems pretty obvious that fungus is a big problem....literally....big. As in, fungus in the gut can be ten times the size of bacteria in the gut.

Look at the picture below. That giant circle is fungus.

The small guys? Bacteria.

Big fungus in the gut surrounded by small bacteria

So while every probiotic has been worried about stuffing good bacteria down our collective throats, fungus has been completely ignored.

That all changed today when we officially launched BIOHM, the first probiotic engineered to address the dual-role that bacteria and fungi play in general digestive health.

We spent a tremendous amount of time figuring out a combination of beneficial fungi strains, beneficial bacteria strains and a powerful enzyme that would breakdown digestive plaque and maintain the total balance of bacteria and fungus in the digestive system.

In the process, we actually created a probiotic that for the first time addressed total microbial balance in the gut.

This chart shows how BIOHM works by first breaking down digestive plaque, and then deploying 30 billion live cultures of good bacteria and fungus into the gut.

How BIOHM Works

These two pictures really show just how powerful BIOHM is when it comes to breaking down digestive plaque. I think it's pretty self explanatory...BIOHM obliterates digestive plaque, allowing the gut's total gut balance to be maintained.

No other probiotic does that. It's that straightforward.

On the left side is digestive plaque without BIOHM. On the right side are the remnants of digestive plaque after BIOHM. These pictures were taken with an electron microscope at 5000x magnification

I'm still baffled that one of the mega probiotic players missed this, but as my Dad has lamented many a time, fungus has basically been ignored by the scientific community up until very recently. So I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

In a world where business headlines are dominated by frivolous, money-losing apps that command astounding valuations, I'm proud to be creating a business that has the potential to actually change millions of lives.

That sounds like a bold statement, but I truly believe that BIOHM can change the way people use probiotics, and become the most significant probiotic business in the world.

Selfishly, I want this to work for my dad.

He's dedicated his life to understanding the role fungus plays in our health and wellness. He's published more than 400 peer-reviewed articles and his work has been cited over 16,000 times by other scientists. He's not only been an NIH-funded researcher since 1993 with over $25 million, he is literally lecturing the NIH on his breakthroughs in probiotics and functional foods.

He's also an amazing Dad, leading our family from being war-torn refugees, to a life we could only imagine here in America.

He has given so much to science and to us, I want to be able to give him something back.

I'm honestly exhausted, but in a good way. As my Dad always says, "every time you you want to stop, remember, we could have never been here, and never had these opportunities. If you're tired, it's because good things are happening. So keep going!"

So I'll keep going.

Now if you'll excuse me I have some more boxes to fold.
